Just stop it with the online petitions

Please, stop with the change.org and White House petitions.  These petition sites are a waste of time and effort.  If petitions drove this country:

  • Gay marriage would be legal. Gay marriage would be illegal.

  • We would be spending forty trillion dollars on building a death star.

  • Texas would once again be its own country.

  • The Hughes Amendment would be gone and handguns would be banned.

  • Justin Bieber would have been deported back to Canada.

The White House petitions are nothing more than props to be used by a POTUS with an agenda.  Your pro 2a petition is not suddenly going to move the worst enemy of the second amendment to come to his senses and support the Constitution and personal freedom.

Over the last few months there has been a sudden outbreak of clueless people creating these petitions and spamming every firearms forum looking for people to sign them.  If you really want to make a difference and fight for the second amendment here a few useful things you can do.

  1. Make sure you’re registered to vote and never miss voting in any election you’re eligible to vote in.

  2. Donate time or money to pro-2a candidates.  It takes people and money to win elections.

  3. Donate time and money to pro-2a advocacy groups.

  4. Learn as much as you can about your state lawmaking process and the federal process, then stop sending scare emails to everyone you know when you read about a bill being introduced.

  5. When your lawmakers have townhall meetings, show up and grill them with well presented questions, facts, and research  if they’re not pro-2a.  If they are pro-2a, thank them for standing up for the Constitution.

  6. Get your other gun owning friends on board with items 1, 2, and 3.

  7. Be a good ambassador for the shooting sports, introduce new people to shooting (don’t be that jackwagon who puts a .338 in someone’s hand and laughs when they shoot - that does not help the cause)

There a many things you can do that will help the cause, but, creating online petitions is a waste of time and you’re just spamming forums with stupidity.
